by Xin Feng [08/26/03] Basically, you can find DOS drivers for your USB CDROM, CDRW, DVDROM and HDD drives from Panasonic's website in Japan. There are at least two versions of USB drivers there. These drivers are initially wrote for Panasonic USB CDROM, CDRW, DVD, HDD drives, but they are kind of universal and support almost all USB devices and laptops, including non-Panasonic ones. You just need to try and find out the right one that works for your specific USB drive and laptop. The one that works for my CF-M32 and Addonics DVD-ROM is the USB driver for Panasonic KXL-RW31AN CD-R/RW drive, found here (KXLRW31AN.EXE): http://panasonic.co.jp/pcc/products/drive/cdrrw/kxlrw31an/download.html For other USB and non-USB devices, click on other models and their driver links look like this (in Japanese): If you are lucky, the Addonics USB DOS driver works for many laptops, desktops and USB drives. However, it does not work for CF-M32. Like usual, please don't ask me for more details as I really don't have time. This webpage has a little more details, especially on how to use the Panasonic USB ASPI driver for HDDs and CF cards. I successfully installed Windows Server 2003 Web Edition onto CF-M32 from a 512MB CF card. Here is the lines in the config.sys and autoexec.bat files: dos=high, umb rem MSCDEX.EXE /D:OEMCD001 For CD-ROM, remark the DI1000DD.SYS line and un-remark the remarked lines. |
