The new PCB boards arrived on schedule this morning. Kudos to Express PCB; with their great service, I can always get boards in 2 days after a new design - how cool is this!

I just made the very first one and I'm listening to it right now. It excedes my each and every expectaions. More tight bass, more spacious and more sharp highs are the least I can say right now. Each and every single notes, in the high, middle or low, are all presented as they ought to be. Before V2, I always felt something missing in my headphones, compared to my NDA receiver and Energy speakers; now evrything is there, even more clearly presented.

Make no mistake, for the size of barely two quaters, this baby has 3 separated and buffered (stackable) channels, like the PPA jant. If you don't know what this means, it is far better than dual mono architecture. The two caps are 1000uF each, super low ESR type. With all the sockets, you can swap opamps and add more buffers (up to 4x). Note, you don't have to have these sockets and the ICs will then be soldered on the back of the board; you'll have more caps and still have 2x buffers in all 3 channels.

Man, who wants to bid on this very first historical amp human ever made? Mavis from Japan suggested that I should give it a new name; I think this baby well deserves it. Name suggestions?

Sorry, I won't be able to response until tomorrow because I'll be snoring like a pig.

How about:

SuperTrine (since there are three totally seperate channels)
SuperTrio (three channels)
SuperIso (three seperate, ISOlated channels)
SuperPoly (polyphonic, three channels working together)
SuperUni (UNIson, UNIty)

Anyway, good job with the new circuit! Very impressive!!

I'm wondering, will you continue to sell the SuperMacro 2.0 as well as this newer version? I imagine this new amp will cost a bit more than the 2.0 SM, as it took longer to develop, is more difficult to assemble, requires more components, etc ... The SuperMacro 2.0 is still a damn good amp though, and at a lower price point than this new 3.0, it would probably be an attractive amp to a lot of people ... Just curious.

Yeah, I guess that would be one way to do it. UltraMacro or something ... ;)

If you call it the SuperPoly, you'd be able to call the DAC the SuperDAC and the DAC+amp the SuperPolyDAC ... ??

I got it - SuperMondo

Macro = large
Mondo = huge

More or less. It would fit in with the naming paradigm where his current products are SuperMxxx(o).

SuperMicro
SuperMini
SuperMacro
SuperMondo

Also I believe mondo means "world" in Latin (well at least in Spanish :). Is this is an amp to shake up the portable amp world...
